News Thanks to our volunteers

Thanks to our volunteers

It takes many hands to get thousands of pounds of food onto thousands of plates each month.   We are grateful for our volunteers who come day after day and for those who pop in every so often because they have found a free block of time.   The generosity of our community amazes me each and every day.   I know why I do this...I love connecting people to good food .   It's nice to know and indeed a comfort to the question of my sanity, that there are others out there who get the same satisfaction from helping others.   In honor of Thanksgiving I would like to start a new regular spot in our newsletter, a 'gratitude block' if you will, noting the folks who took the time during the previous month to stop in and give us a hand.   Since any inaugural should be special I'll take this opportunity to thank a few who have gone waaaayyyyy beyond the call of duty to answer a need without hesitation and often without compensation beyond a smile and a hug.   The list that should be here is far longer than what is here now but for the sake of brevity (and a kindness to the volunteer doing the compilations for future editions) these are just a start...
